What Household Handyman uncovered constructing a cabin in Wisconsin Northwoods

The outdoors blends with the indoors via large windows and glass doors at the Getaway, a vacation home outside Weyerhaeuser built by the staff of Family Handyman magazine.

For anyone who has constructed a dwelling or worked on a house enhancement task, specifically above the past calendar year, “fun” is not typically a term that comes to mind.

But which is how Nick Grzechowiak described creating a cabin in Wisconsin’s Northwoods this summer.

“It’s been the improved aspect of a summer time, but it is been rather fulfilling,” he stated. “The concept of getting ready to establish a little something that we created on a wonderful 15-acre piece of assets in northwestern Wisconsin … it sure beats sitting down in a cubicle.”

Grzechowiak is the chief content officer for Family Handyman, a magazine that celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2020 and this calendar year built a home, dubbed the Getaway, outside Weyerhaeuser in Rusk County.

He explained the crew received the idea soon after repairing up a classic camper past 12 months.
