Peek Within This Reworked Retro Lodge in the Heights

Houston’s most buzzed-about new lodge combines all issues Houston and all things retro less than a person A-framed roof.

Now open up to tourists, The Heights House Lodge at 100 W Cavalcade, formerly acknowledged as the Astro Inn, debuts entrepreneurs George Giannukos and Jivar Foty’s Rise Construction’s yearlong $3.5-million overhaul, which turned a run-down motel into a hip hangout for tourists and locals alike.

The three-tale boutique hotel—a to start with for the area—is house to 133 rooms and a 7,500-square-foot courtyard with a pool and turf-lined dining and seating spot.

In real Houston manner, there’s a best notch cafe and bar inside, Area Cowboy, featuring island-encouraged cocktails and cuisine by chef Lyle Bento and beverage beverage director Greg Perez until finally 2 a.m. And, of program, there are murals—two to be precise, from artists Sergio Aguilar and José Kontos from Monterrey, Mexico.

The original foyer was kept the same during the renovations, but it now boasts bright blue and orange accent partitions, funky neon signage, and a putting marbled entrance desk.
