Wayne bar remodel celebrates its connection with rock ‘n’ roll heritage

Tucked away on Michigan Avenue in downtown Wayne is a bar with a rich rock ‘n’ roll historical past. Now, its proprietor is placing that background out entrance and centre.

John Goci, operator of US 12 Bar and Grill, has reopened the space at 34824 W. Michigan Ave., following renovating the longtime mainstay in Wayne above the earlier calendar year. The emphasize of the renovations include things like photos on the wall of some of the rock acts performing in the place a long time in the past, like Iggy Pop and The Stooges, as perfectly as Bob Seger.

“I usually realized about the rock historical past of this area,” Goci said. “There was no Westland, it was Nankin Township. There was no Canton. Wayne was the major city.

“There have been so a lot of wonderful artists who have performed right here.”
